Title George M. Darrow to Elizabeth White
Scope & Content Darrow, a scientist at the Agricultural Research Station, writes to Elizabeth saying he was sorry to learn that she was so ill. He remarks on the success of the blueberry industry and infers that this is due to the meticulous work done at the outset. After noting that he will retire soon, Darrow comments on the work and ability of blueberry researchers throughout the country.
Notes George McMillan Darrow (1889-1983) was known as the foremost American authority on strawberries. He worked for the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA-ARS) (1911-1957) as a pomologist and small fruits breeder.
